Edit an extracted value
Correcting what was read from the document, and how that differs from choosing which Shopify record to use.

Two different things on the review screen look like editing, and it helps to know which one you are doing.
- Correcting what the document says. The document was misread, or says something that cannot be used as-is.
- Choosing which Shopify record to use. The document was read correctly; you are deciding what it maps to in your store.
Most of the review screen is the second kind. Choosing a company, a variant, a delivery rate or a payment term does not change your reading of the document — it records a decision about your store.
Correcting what was read
The values that come from the document and can be corrected are the ones that belong to the order or its lines: quantities, units, prices, and the line’s identifying details.
Open the line and change the value. Everything downstream is re-derived: a corrected unit may raise or clear a conversion question, and a corrected price may raise or clear a price decision.
Check the source first
Open the source document before correcting anything. It is the fastest way to tell a misread from a genuine oddity in the buyer’s paperwork, and they need different fixes.
- A misread — the document says 12 and the order says 1.2 — is yours to correct.
- A genuine oddity — the document really does say the line totals do not add up — is worth a conversation with the buyer. Correcting it here makes the order internally consistent but leaves you shipping something the buyer’s paperwork does not agree with.
Values flagged as unusable
Some values are read but rejected, and appear as Check a value read from the document. This is a warning, not a blocker.
It means the text was found but could not be used — a quantity that is not a number, a date that is not a date, a price with two decimal points. Compare it with the source and enter what it should be.
What cannot be edited
You cannot edit your Shopify catalogue from the review screen. If the price, title or availability of a variant is wrong, fix it in Shopify; PO Autopilot reads it live and the correction is picked up.
The purchase-order number and currency are read from the document; if either is missing you are asked to confirm it before the order can be calculated.
What happens next
Corrections apply to this order only. Editing a quantity here does not teach anything for future orders.

One exception worth knowing: the pack size you enter when defining a unit conversion is remembered if you take the mapping option on that line, because the conversion is part of the mapping. See Units of measure (UOM) and pack sizes.
